Video

The music video for "Boombox" consisted of Andy Samberg and Julian Casablancas singing about how their boombox affects the people and mood of various locations. The first of these places is a country club, where the boombox causes the "old white people" to start dancing. The video then skips the song's second verse and proceeds to the next place, New York City, where the boombox again causes people to start dancing, including "a Spanish guy doing the Bartman" (Fred Armisen), wear fingerless gloves, and unite despite their diverse demographics. It was a rainbow coalition of dancing. The song concludes in the final location, a retirement home, where "the music was way too powerful"[1] it leads all of the residents to have sex, leaving Samberg and Casablancas "disgusted to say the least"[1].[2][3] All three montages feature a bizarre reference to boiled goose. The song contains another verse not seen in the video, set in a boardroom with a group of businessmen.

Censorship

When the music video premiered on SNL's March 13 episode[2], the only part that was censored was the word "fucking" in the line, "A bunch of old people fucking like rabbits"[1]. However, The Lonely Island posted the video on YouTube completely uncensored.[3]
